Pre-Kindergarten for today's child

...and tomorrow's inner child.

Young children possess boundless imagination, perfect openness to the world and all its beauty, and the inborn belief that anything is possible. We believe that these wonderful gifts should not fade with age.

With a fundamental focus on visual arts, music, dance and theatre, our goal is to enable children to fully explore and express these gifts in an endless variety of ways. Inspiring and nurturing today’s child firmly implants their future inner child — that playfulness, creativity, vision and confidence that will enable them to realize their dreams.

Program Information

Philosophy and Approach:

    • A structured, Fine Arts-infused program
    • A safe, respectful and enriching group learning environment
    • Highly trained teachers prepare children for Kindergarten specifically
    • Students are provided with all the skills necessary to excel throughout their educational careers,
      instilling within them a lifelong desire to learn
    • Classes accommodate a maximum of 20 children supported by 3 experienced staff,
      an outstanding student/teacher ratio
    • "Best of breed" teaching philosophies/methods that we embrace include The Leader in Me (The 7 Habits of Happy Kids) and Handwriting Without Tears (Learning Without Tears)

Target Age Group:

    • Program designed for children 3-1/2 to 5 years old (at school year start in September)
    • For younger children who demonstrate a readiness to learn, please contact us at
      pre-kindergarten@artscalibre.ca       or (778) 350-0427 to explore possible admission by exception.

Hours/Days of Operation:

    • Morning drop off:              8:00 AM to 9:00 AM
    • Structured programming:  9:00 AM to 3:30 PM
    • Afternoon pick-up:           3:30 PM to 4:30 PM
    • First and final hour above (outside of structured programming) are carefully supervised licensed child care
    • We closely follow the Greater Victoria School District 61 calendar, but with only two closures for Professional Development (Pro-D) days in November and February.  Please visit our Pre-Kindergarten School Calendar

Attendance Options

Families may choose from 2 to 5 days per week:

    • 2-class option:  Tuesday and Thursday
    • 3-class option:  Monday, Wednesday and Friday
    • 4-class option:  Add Tuesday or Thursday to the above 3-class option
    • 5-class option:  Monday through Friday
