Science / STEAM Teacher – Middle and High School (Part-Time)

ArtsCalibre Academy is currently accepting applications for a Science / STEAM teacher to join our team. This is a part-time position. Under the direction of the Principal, the Science / STEAM teacher will be responsible for the direct education and supervision of children within the classroom environment. Working within a team environment, we are seeking an energetic, reliable, flexible, creative and confident individual with a passion for guiding and nurturing children's education through the Arts. Candidate must have experience and relevant certification in middle/high school STEAM elective courses such as wood working/carpentry, metalsmithing, visual art, applied skills and technology courses or stage craft.


The teacher is responsible for a variety of duties including:

  • Developing and assessing Science and STEAM curriculum for students in Grades 6 through 10
  • Maintaining an organized and safe learning environment.
  • Providing on-site supervision.
  • Leading daily homeroom duties and other activities as required.


  • Valid BC Teaching Certificate or equivalent
  • Valid First Aid/CPR Certificate
  • Clear Criminal Record Check
  • Must provide three (3) recent letters of reference


  • Excellent planning, organizational, leadership and interpersonal communication skills required
  • Ability to work as a member of our team, contributing to the team environment through personal behavior, work contributions and professional knowledge and skills
  • Ability to demonstrate ethical and professional behavior in the workplace

EDUCATION ASSISTANT – Elementary School Program

Do you have a passion for children? Are you inspired to create a positive learning environment?  ArtsCalibre Academy is looking for positive, creative Education Assistants to inspire our students to reach their potential.

Education Assistants work collaboratively with teachers to build successful learning programs. You will work directly with students to provide academic assistance and promote positive behaviour. ArtsCalibre has a dynamic learning environment and you will be called upon to support students in small classes and individually in the classroom, community and on the stage!  Successful candidates will have excellent experience working with children and have completed the Community Support Worker or Educational Assistant Program certificate, or equivalent post-secondary courses in child or adolescent development. First Aid and CPR certification are required. Experience with the arts, be it dance, music or visual expression, is preferred but not mandatory.

ArtsCalibre Academy is looking for positive, proactive Custodian and Groundskeeper to support our school team. The Custodian / Groundskeeper is a critical team member who maintains a high standard of cleanliness at both our elementary and middle school campuses. The successful candidate will be organized, able to manage priorities and time and have a high level of flexibility. Successful candidates will have excellent references and relevant experience.


  • Systematic cleaning and sanitization of school buildings, classrooms and washrooms
  • Implementation of COVID-19 cleaning protocols
  • Sorting and removal of recycling and garbage
  • Ensuring building is clean and prepared for outside user groups, when applicable
  • Removes snow and ice on sidewalks and pathways
  • Undertakes routine maintenance activities such as replacing light bulbs, light construction (e.g. shelving units)
  • Maintains school landscaping including lawn mowing, weed and garbage removal
  • Supporting school safety standards and reporting safety concerns
  • Assisting staff as needed (e.g. fixing lockers, moving furniture)


  • First Aid and CPR certification are required.
  • Grade 12 certificate or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Clear Criminal Record Check
  • Must provide three (3) recent letters of reference


  • Balance attention to detail and time available to complete assigned tasks
  • Maintain a cooperative working relationship with other workers, administrators, supervisors, teaching staff, students and the public
  • Adapt to changing circumstances, plans and schedules to meet unforeseen circumstances.


  • Able to stand or walk for extended periods.
  • Able to lift and carry supplies (up to 18 kg/40 lb).
  • Able to climb and work from 3 metre ladders.
  • Able to work in a highly active physical environment.
  • Able to clean up bodily fluids as per standard procedure.
